Himachal Pradesh farmers are increasingly concerned about the ongoing dry spell impacting the rabi crop season, particularly wheat. The state has recorded a 99% rainfall deficit in December, with most districts experiencing no precipitation. While wheat has been sown on approximately 2.26 lakh hectares, many farmers are hesitant to sow or are worried about existing crops due to the lack of rain. Only about 25% of the agricultural area has assured irrigation, exacerbating the situation.
