
The New Delhi Municipal Council (NDMC) inaugurated the fourth edition of the Tulip Festival at Shanti Path, Chanakyapuri, showcasing over 5 lakh tulip bulbs, mostly imported from the Netherlands. The festival, started in 2017-18 with 17,000 bulbs, has expanded significantly, featuring vibrant blooms across key city locations and offering 1 lakh potted tulips for public sale. Netherlands Ambassador Marisa Gerards highlighted the tulip's historical journey and expressed hopes to develop a climate-resilient Indian tulip variety named after an Indian icon, reflecting growing Indo-Dutch ties.
