Kerala Launches Medisep Phase 2 with Increased Coverage and Expanded Benefits

The Kerala government will launch Phase 2 of the Medisep medical insurance scheme for government employees, pensioners, and dependents from February 1. The renewed scheme increases coverage from Rs 3 lakh to Rs 5 lakh annually, with a monthly premium of Rs 687. It includes 2,516 treatment packages aligned with the National Health Benefit Package 2022, offers cashless treatment at empanelled hospitals, and allows knee and hip replacement surgeries in private hospitals. Emergency treatments at non-empanelled hospitals are reimbursable, with no age limit for enrolment.
