A social worker has alleged that government schemes designed to support Good Samaritans who help road accident victims are not being effectively implemented at the ground level. Despite provisions for recognition and financial assistance from both central and Punjab governments, individuals saving lives are reportedly not receiving these benefits. The activist, who is part of the Akal Sewa Foundation, has met with officials and MPs to advocate for better scheme execution, noting the organization's own efforts in over 100 accident cases.
