MCD Approves Sewage Treatment, Cow Dung Cremation Pilot, and Worker Regularisation

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi approved plans to remodel a pump house in east Delhi and build a sewage treatment plant to supply treated wastewater for maintaining greenery in municipal parks across areas like Sunder Nagri and Laxmi Nagar. The corporation also endorsed a pilot project using cow dung cakes for cremations at two cremation grounds to promote sustainable practices. Additionally, 24 NGOs and community groups were selected to maintain cremation and burial sites, and 105 sanitation workers were regularised. The meeting included discussions on civic issues amid reported disruptions by some councillors.
