Delhi Air Quality Stays Poor Amid Partial Utilization of Pollution Control Budget

Delhi's air quality remained in the 'poor' category for the fourth consecutive day, with an AQI of 237 and Anand Vihar recording the highest pollution at 342, classified as 'very poor'. Despite ongoing pollution control efforts, only about 43% of the ₹300 crore budget allocated for pollution control and emergency measures in 2025-26 has been utilized as of January 20, 2026. Funds have been spent on anti-smog guns and mist spray systems, while some major allocations remain unspent.
