India's Vantara, a wildlife conservation center, is providing technical expertise to Indonesia's Ministry of Forestry to combat Elephant Endotheliotropic Herpesvirus (EEHV) deaths among Sumatran elephants. This collaboration, facilitated by Fauna Land Indonesia, aims to enhance early detection, preventive care, and veterinary response. Vantara specialists are in Riau to support medical assessments, disease management, and capacity building for local caretakers and veterinarians, focusing on elephants under human care.
