In Karnataka's Lakkundi village, the Ritti family discovered a copper pot containing approximately 466 grams of gold and copper ornaments while digging for a new house. The 14-year-old son, Prajwal Ritti, handed the items to local authorities, earning praise for his honesty. The government is considering compensating the family. Archaeologists stated the items are likely ancestral household jewellery buried centuries ago, not historical treasure, and construction on the site has been halted pending further examination.
