21-Year-Old Woman Killed in Leopard Attack Near Maharajganj Forest

A 21-year-old woman, Sairun Nisha, was mauled to death by a leopard near a sugarcane field in the Nichlaul Range of Sohgirwa Wildlife Sanctuary, Maharajganj, Uttar Pradesh. She was attacked while grazing goats around 3:30 pm and later declared dead at a local health center. Forest officials confirmed the attack, deployed personnel to capture the leopard, and advised villagers to avoid venturing alone near forests and sugarcane fields. The victim's family will receive compensation as per legal provisions.
