Loco Pilot Denied Sick Leave After Piles Surgery, Union Seeks Action

Loco pilot Rajesh Meena, belonging to the Scheduled Tribe community, was initially denied sick leave after undergoing piles surgery, despite showing his unhealed wound to Chief Crew Controller Ratan Kumar. The incident, recorded by colleagues and widely shared among railway employees, sparked criticism from the All India Loco Running Staff Association (AILRSA), which called the treatment inhumane. After union intervention, Meena was granted leave. The Divisional Railway Manager of Lucknow Division has not responded to requests for comment.
