
The Punjab and Haryana High Court has directed Haryana Medical Services Corporation Limited to float a tender within six weeks to procure myoelectric bionic arms for Raman, a 17-year-old amputee from Panipat who lost both arms and a leg in a 2011 electrocution. Despite previous orders and compensation awarded for negligence, delays have left Raman without functional prostheses for several years. A 2025 medical board recommended advanced prostheses for cosmetic and functional use, prompting the court's renewed directive.
