The Maharashtra School Education Department has reversed its earlier decision limiting Right to Education (RTE) admissions to schools within a one-kilometre radius, following a Bombay High Court Nagpur Bench stay. Parents can now apply to schools within one kilometre, three kilometres, or beyond, with priority given to closer schools. The application deadline has been extended to March 25, and parents may modify existing applications. The change restores previous distance norms after objections from parent groups and court intervention.
