Kerala's government has issued a draft notification proposing revised minimum wages for private health sector employees, with nurses' basic pay ranging from Rs 25,450 to Rs 33,080. However, the United Nurses Association (UNA) rejects this, demanding a unified basic pay of Rs 40,000, equivalent to public sector nurses. UNA has threatened an indefinite selective strike from March 9 if their demands are unmet, aiming to pressure private hospitals while maintaining emergency services. The wage revision will be considered after two months from notification publication.
