An Indian Institute of Science (IISc) analysis using AI and IoT data predicts water shortages this summer in 65 wards across Bengaluru, including areas on the city's outskirts. The Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) plans to address this by providing immediate water connections, filling lakes with treated water to recharge groundwater, and deploying water tanks and tankers in stressed zones. Measures to ensure uninterrupted borewell and RO plant operations and penalties for non-essential water use are also planned.
