Tamil Nadu Pharmacies Display QR Codes for Reporting Adverse Drug Events

Pharmacies in Tamil Nadu are now displaying QR codes and a toll-free number to enable the public to report suspected adverse drug reactions. This initiative, mandated by the Central Drugs Standard Control Organisation (CDSCO) and implemented by the Tamil Nadu Chemists and Druggists Association (TNCDA), aims to strengthen patient safety and pharmacovigilance. Tamil Nadu is reportedly the first state to implement this measure, allowing seamless reporting of side effects to the Adverse Drug Reaction Monitoring System.
