Leela Shrotri, a 98- to 99-year-old former teacher from Thane, cast her vote in the recent municipal elections, demonstrating enduring commitment to democratic participation. Assisted by a former student who drove her to the polling station, she overcame physical challenges with the help of booth staff who arranged seating for her. Shrotri continues to teach and maintain close ties with former pupils. Honored with the Thane Gaurav Award, her upcoming 100th birthday is planned to be celebrated by her students.
