
Hyderabad Police launched the AI-powered C-Mitra virtual helpdesk on January 9 to streamline cybercrime FIR registration. Within 10 days, it reached about 1,000 victims and facilitated over 100 FIRs by drafting complaints using AI and coordinating via WhatsApp or email. Victims print, sign, and send the documents by post, enabling FIR registration without visiting police stations. A 24-member team operates in shifts to assist victims, combining technology with personal support to reduce public hesitation and expedite justice.
