Punjabi Writer Jinder's 'Safety Kit' Wins Sahitya Akademi Award 2025

Punjabi writer Jinder's short-story collection "Safety Kit" has won the Sahitya Akademi Award 2025. The book, published by Navyug Publishers, explores themes of migration, insecurity, and psychological challenges faced by Punjabis abroad, featuring stories like that of Jaspreet, a young woman confronting fear overseas. Previously awarded the Dhahan Prize in 2024, the Sahitya Akademi Award includes a plaque, shawl, and Rs 1 lakh, with the ceremony scheduled for March 31 in New Delhi. The awards also recognized works in 24 Indian languages.
