A male Royal Bengal tiger was recently spotted in Buxa Tiger Reserve, West Bengal, marking the first confirmed presence since December 2023. Forest officials report the tiger traveled across the reserve, likely searching for a mate or new territory, possibly coming from Bhutan. The Forest Department is using M-STrIPES technology and extensive camera traps to monitor the tiger's movements and distinguish it from others recorded in the area during the ongoing All India Tiger Estimation exercise.
