Andhra Families Host Lavish Sankranti Feasts Honoring Sons-in-Law with Extensive Dishes

During this year's Sankranti celebrations in Andhra Pradesh, two families hosted grand feasts to honor their sons-in-law, a tradition symbolizing respect and familial love. A family in Tenali prepared 158 dishes, including traditional sweets, snacks, and vegetarian and non-vegetarian items, marking the couple's first Sankranti after marriage. In Konaseema's Adurru village, another family served an extensive spread of 1,374 dishes, accompanied by symbolic gifts. These celebrations highlight regional customs emphasizing hospitality and cultural heritage.
