The Karnataka government launched the 'Kusuma Sanjeevini' programme to provide free prophylactic treatment and emergency transport services to about 2,600 hemophilia patients. The initiative introduces Emicizumab, a monthly subcutaneous injection that reduces treatment frequency compared to traditional intravenous therapies. Early results showed significant reduction in bleeding episodes, improving patients' quality of life. The state allocated over ₹42 crore for the program, aiming to help patients, especially children, integrate into mainstream society.
