Technical Issues and Procedural Delays Affect Crop Loan Processing in Coimbatore

The Tamil Nadu government recently digitalised the crop loan application process for farmers in Coimbatore district, aiming for same-day approvals and interest-free loans up to Rs 2 lakh. However, farmers report technical glitches, including server issues and delays in uploading land records due to a Revenue Department strike, causing submission delays of up to 15 days. Representatives also allege reductions in sanctioned loan amounts linked to revised crop details and GPS data requirements, raising concerns about the new system's effectiveness.
