Food Safety Raids in Uttar Pradesh Seize Adulterated and Unhygienic Food Ahead of Festivals

Ahead of the festive season, food safety authorities in Uttar Pradesh conducted extensive raids in Noida, Greater Noida, Lucknow, and Kanpur, seizing large quantities of adulterated and unhygienic food items including sweets, edible oils, ghee, and dates. Violations included poor hygiene, mislabeling, and lack of proper documentation. Samples were collected for laboratory testing, and legal actions are planned under the Food Safety and Standards Act. The Food Safety and Standards Authority of India also initiated an online training program on food safety risk assessment.
