A fourth-year B.Tech student from Ajmer, Rajasthan, was found dead by suicide in his IIT Kanpur hostel room on Monday. Police confirmed the student, identified as Jai Singh Meena (26), first slit his wrists before hanging himself. A suicide note was recovered, reportedly reading, "Sorry Everyone...I..." This marks the fourth student suicide at the institute this year. IIT Kanpur expressed deep condolences, describing the deceased as a promising student who joined in July 2020. The body has been sent for post-mortem examination.
