A farmer from Fatehgarh Sahib, Punjab, named Balkar Singh, has won a Rs 1 crore prize in the Sikkim State Lottery with a Rs 7 ticket purchased a decade ago. The win, which occurred on December 24 but was only realized on December 29, sparked celebrations in his village. Singh, a marginal farmer, plans to use the winnings to expand his agricultural work and donate approximately 10% to charity. The lottery stall owner, Mukesh Kumar Bittu, noted this was the largest prize his stall had ever facilitated.
