The men, who traveled to Makkah for Umrah, were reportedly taken into custody at Masjid Al-Haram on March 4 after a misunderstanding during an interaction conducted in Arabic, which they do not understand. They face allegations of engaging in brokerage activities without a company licence and are held at Al Shumaisi detention facility, with possible deportation proceedings underway. The families have expressed serious concern and requested verification of their welfare and due process.
