The controller of examinations at Gour Banga University in Malda has filed a police complaint alleging caste-based humiliation by a senior faculty member and his son. The complaint stems from the withholding of the son's fourth-semester results, which university sources suggest was due to concerns over the father's alleged involvement in the examination process. The complainant, belonging to a Scheduled Caste, claims he was verbally abused with caste references for following university directives. The National Commission for Scheduled Castes has been involved and advised the complainant to file a formal police report.
