Residents in Andheri East, Mumbai, allege that illegal construction has enclosed a century-old Christian cross, accusing civic and police authorities of inaction. The Watchdog Foundation filed a complaint stating the unauthorized construction, near the MIDC Police Station, obstructs public worship and desecrates the cross. A cloth reportedly conceals the structure from inspectors. While K East Ward officials were unavailable for comment, residents anticipate a ward office inspection this week. The MIDC police stated they were unaware of the complaint.
