The Sundarbans forest division has significantly reduced tiger intrusions into villages by increasing the height of nylon net fencing from eight to 10 feet. In 2024, 22 tiger attacks were reported after breaches of the old fencing. Since the installation of the taller fences along approximately 80km in vulnerable areas, tiger intrusions have largely stopped, easing fears in fringe villages and contributing to the protection of both humans and endangered tigers.
