Maharani Kamsundari Devi of Darbhanga, Donor of 600 Kg Gold in 1962, Passes Away

Maharani Kamsundari Devi, the last royal of Darbhanga, passed away at around 93-94 years old, marking the end of an era for the Mithila region. Known for her dignified life and commitment to service, she notably donated 600 kilograms of gold to India during the 1962 India-China war, supporting the nation's resilience. She also founded the Maharajadhiraj Kameshwar Singh Kalyani Foundation in 1989 to preserve the Darbhanga heritage and legacy through cultural and educational initiatives.
