A youth in Thane claimed he was harassed and detained for three hours at Bhayandar Railway Station after questioning why announcements were not made in Marathi. He alleged the station master reacted angrily and threatened to call the Railway Protection Force. Railway officials denied the harassment claim, stating the youth misbehaved and lacked a valid ticket. They asserted that announcements on Western Railway are consistently made in Marathi, English, and Hindi.
