
The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) has allocated around Rs 35 crore in its upcoming budget for microchipping and vaccinating stray dogs to improve public safety and animal health. Of this, Rs 20 crore will be spent directly by MCD, and Rs 15 crore will support NGO partnerships to expand outreach. The target is to microchip and vaccinate at least 25,000 dogs within 2-3 months. Additionally, Rs 60 lakh has been set aside to catch and relocate monkeys to reduce human-animal conflicts in the city.
