A footwear shop in Kozhikode, Kerala, offered premium shoes for Re 1 to the first 100 customers presenting a one-rupee note, attracting a large crowd from nearby districts including Wayanad. The turnout exceeded the shop's capacity, causing traffic standstill and commotion. Police intervened early Sunday morning, resorting to a mild lathicharge to control the crowd and prevent a stampede. Subsequently, the shop owners were detained due to poor event management.
