Chandigarh police have implemented extensive security and traffic measures for New Year's Eve, deploying over 1,000 personnel and establishing numerous checkpoints to prevent drunk driving and hooliganism. Restricted vehicle zones will be in effect in key market areas and near Elante Mall. Special attention is given to women's safety with a dedicated squad. Similar arrangements are in place in Mohali and Panchkula, with checkpoints and personnel deployed to ensure public safety and order.
