Pune's Kasba Ganpati temple reopened after a two-week restoration, revealing the idol's original form after removing approximately 900 kg of sindoor. The extensive sindoor layers had covered the traditional Chaturbhuj idol for centuries. Experts from the archaeological department and Deccan College assisted in the delicate removal process, preserving the original idol, canopy, and sanctum sanctorum. This marks the first such restoration in the temple's recorded history.
