Social worker Gauri Sarin and a dozen volunteers in Gurgaon began a 24-hour fast on New Year's Eve to demand a pollution-free city. Sarin, who recently experienced severe respiratory issues attributed to air pollution, highlighted the inadequate enforcement of Graded Response Action Plan (GRAP) norms, including insufficient dust suppression and a lack of action on industrial and vehicular emissions. She emphasized the protest was pro-people, not political or anti-government, aiming to build a sustainable framework for Gurgaon.
