
Pune Traffic Police has launched a recovery drive targeting nearly 19 lakh unpaid traffic challans totaling over Rs 410 crore. Notices will be sent via SMS from February 26 to March 1, 2026, to registered vehicle owners, directing them to clear dues within 30 days. Failure to pay may result in licence suspension proposals to the RTO or court prosecution. Officials caution against fraudulent messages and advise using official payment channels.
