
Pune Traffic Police have launched a recovery drive targeting over 19 lakh unpaid traffic challans totaling more than Rs 410 crore. Vehicle owners with pending fines will receive official SMS notices from February 26 to March 1, 2026, instructing them to pay within 30 days. Failure to comply may result in driving licence suspension or legal action. The police also introduced a new WhatsApp number for complaints and implemented 'Trafficure', a software to enhance traffic management using real-time data.
