
Delhi recorded 9,211 deaths due to respiratory diseases in 2024, up from 8,801 in 2023, with common illnesses including asthma, pneumonia, lung cancer, and tuberculosis. Circulatory diseases remained the leading cause of death at 21,262 fatalities, followed by infectious and parasitic diseases with 16,060 deaths. Overall mortality rose to 1,39,480, while births declined to 3,06,459. The infant mortality rate showed slight improvement, decreasing to 22.4 per 1,000 live births.
