Varanasi weavers have crafted 15 special Banarasi sarees featuring cricket-themed motifs, including designs of India's World Cup trophies and the current T20 World Cup trophy. Each saree, costing between Rs 25,000 and Rs 30,000, took about one-and-a-half months to complete and is packed in decorative boxes with photographs of the players. The initiative aims to boost the Indian cricket team's morale and showcase Banarasi craftsmanship. Prayers for the team's success were also held at Shri Kashi Vishwanath Dham ahead of the T20 World Cup final between India and New Zealand in Ahmedabad.
