Dr. Mahantesh B. Ramannavar, an anatomy professor in Belagavi, Karnataka, is actively promoting body donation to address low donation rates attributed to cultural beliefs, systemic issues, and mistrust. Following his father's wish to have his body dissected, Dr. Ramannavar founded a trust that has facilitated over 5,000 registered donations and transferred more than 200 bodies to medical colleges for educational and research purposes. He aims to overcome public apprehension and the historical 'grey market' for bodies.
