CJI Surya Kant Highlights Concern Over Law Graduates Choosing Corporate Jobs Over Court Practice

At the 16th convocation of Gujarat National Law University, Chief Justice of India Surya Kant expressed concern over 93% of law graduates opting for corporate jobs rather than practicing law in courts. He emphasized that legal education differs from actual practice, highlighting the importance of practical experience beyond classroom learning. The CJI urged graduates to engage deeply with the profession, noting that sustained effort in legal work often goes unrecognized and stressing the judiciary's need for more members from national law schools.
