North Garo Hills celebrated its 17th annual 'Song Krittan' on January 2, drawing a large crowd to the Bangsi Apal Government School playground. This tradition, blending faith, music, and dance, originated with early Garo nature worshippers and continues even after many converted to Christianity. Participants sang and danced to drums and cymbals, marking the end of the holiday season. Organizers are committed to preserving this cultural practice, which has been ongoing since 2005 with a COVID-19 interruption.
