Following reports of gastroenteritis and diarrhoea cases in Andhra Pradesh urban areas, Chief Minister N. Chandrababu Naidu ordered urgent corrective measures and intensified monitoring of water supply systems. Departments including Municipal Administration, Public Health, and district authorities were directed to coordinate efforts focusing on pipeline repairs, chlorination, drainage maintenance, and mosquito control. Municipal Commissioners are held personally accountable for ensuring water meets BIS standards, with zero tolerance for negligence and mandatory weekly compliance reporting.
