The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) has cancelled the affiliation of Neerja Modi School in Jaipur following the suicide of a nine-year-old Class 4 student on November 1. An inquiry found the school guilty of "gross violation" of child safety norms, including relentless bullying, failure to address parental complaints, and a lack of effective counseling. The CBSE cited systemic failure and negligence, stating the incident was preventable. While CBSE has made arrangements for students in Classes 9 and 11, parents are urging the Rajasthan government to also take action.
