Male Elephant Dies by Electrocution from Electrified Fence in Tamil Nadu Farmland

A male elephant aged between 12 and 15 years died after coming into contact with an electrified wire fence on farmland in Kadaganalli village near Sathyamangalam Tiger Reserve, Tamil Nadu. The fence, erected by farmer B. Puttusamy to protect his maize crop, was illegally connected to a power source. Following the incident, forest officials and police registered cases against Puttusamy, who was subsequently arrested by the Forest Department.
