233-Year-Old Valmiki Ramayana Manuscript Gifted to Ayodhya's Ram Katha Museum

A rare 233-year-old Sanskrit manuscript of Valmiki's Ramayana, dating to 1792 CE and featuring classical commentary by Maheshvara Tirtha, has been permanently gifted to the International Ram Katha Museum in Ayodhya. Previously loaned to Rashtrapati Bhavan, the manuscript includes five principal sections of the epic and represents a preserved textual tradition. The handover, led by Central Sanskrit University's Vice Chancellor Shrinivasa Varakhedi to Nripendra Misra of the Prime Ministers Museum, aims to enhance public access and support the museum's development as a global Ramayana heritage center.
