Ahead of International Women's Day 2026, Maharashtra municipalities and organizations launched various initiatives to empower women. Panvel hosted a three-day exhibition showcasing products from women's self-help groups, while Thane organized cultural competitions for female municipal employees. The Navtejaswini Thane Gramotsav featured over 500 rural women entrepreneurs displaying crafts and organic products. In Mumbai, Deputy Chief Minister Sunetra Pawar inaugurated the 'Mahila Sanman Portal' and a cyber wellness cell to facilitate online complaint registration linked to police stations statewide.
