
In 2025, the Kamrup district administration in Assam, in collaboration with police and civil society, prevented 350 child marriages and rescued 10 trafficked children, primarily girls. These interventions were facilitated by community vigilance and swift coordination with law enforcement. Nationally, the Just Rights for Children network has prevented nearly 200,000 child marriages and rescued over 55,000 trafficked children since January 2025, with ongoing efforts to end child marriage by 2030.
