Republic Day Invitation Showcases Northeast India's Cultural and Artistic Heritage

The 77th Republic Day 'At Home' invitation, curated by the National Institute of Design, highlights the cultural heritage of India's eight northeastern states, known as the Ashtalakshmi. Guests will receive a specially designed Eri silk stole featuring motifs of regional flora and fauna, such as Nagaland's Mithun and Manipur's Sangai deer. The handcrafted invitation box incorporates traditional bamboo weaving and Assamese manuscript-inspired designs, reflecting collaborative efforts with local artisans across the region.
